I covet...

Yes, I covet. I covet the words of Andrew Davidson in his novel "The Gargoyle". His way with words are simply amazing. So crisp and precise that I find myself (almost literally...) drooling over them.

I have seen this book for the last several months at the local bookstore that I have come to love on the island. I have been wanting to read it since I saw it but could not justify the $26 to buy it. To my great delight the library finally bought it and I checked it out yesterday. I'm only 130 something pages into it but I absolutely love it thus far. It is quite a bit different than I had thought it would be considering the main character in the book used to have a successful career as a porn star and director but you find that you can't entirely hate him for his past. It goes through the experience of being a burn victim in an incredibly interesting way. I find it a bit wordy at times but it's not in a way that would prevent me from continuing reading.

I try not to compare myself to this man. This is his first novel and it keeps making me doubt myself in a way. But... 1. He has a B.A. in English, 2. He's been a teacher for years, 3. It took him 7 years to research and write this, 4. Our styles are quite a bit different. So, I'll try and not feel to inferior to his superior writing. In the meantime, I will simply covet...

Of course there's a plate in the iFixit photo covering the other aspects of the iPhone design, but at least the pipe-like element reveals which of the designs from Hong Kong is for the iPhone 6-Plus: design patent 6M002 noted above.
