The Unpublishing of Eden - and my Deep Dark Secret

Yes, you read that right, Eden is being unpublished.
The time has come to say goodbye to Eden, for me to press that "unpublish" button.  To take it down from the web.

All good things run their course.  Eden had a great run, it averaged 4+ stars in all the reviews and is optioned for a major motion picture by the producer of the Twilight saga.

But there are times when it is time to say "enough is enough."

So thank you all for your support for Eden, your kind words, your great reviews, and your love.  But it is time to put an end to Eden the novel.

And time to say hello to
THE EDEN TRILOGY!!!!

Yep, you read that line right too!  After a year and a half, a lot of readers begging for it, and a production company who really, really wants me to do it, the time has come and I am taking the plunge!

There will be changes.  Many changes.  Over the last year a lot has happened.  You all have probably noticed that I haven't been releasing books at the same speed I had previously upheld and this is the reason.  There have been things going on with Eden and a lot of work being put into it on my part.  No, not much has changed with it being made into a movie.  We are waiting for a few key things to fall into place before anything happens.  And all of this is part of it.

So here is the real announcement of this post:

EDEN IS BEING RELAUNCHED.
WITH A NEW TITLE.
AND A NEW COVER.
AND A LOT OF CHANGES IN THE ACTUAL BOOK.

The new title?
THE BANE
Book One in The Eden Trilogy

The new cover?
Take a look:

The synopsis:
Before the Evolution there was TorBane: technology that infused human DNA with cybernetic matter. It had the ability to grow new organs and limbs, to heal the world. Until it evolved out of control and spread like the common cold. The machine took over, the soul vanished, and the Bane were born. The Bane won't stop until every last person has been infected. With less than two percent of the human population left, mankind is on the brink of extinction.

Eve knows the stories of the Evolution, the time before she wandered into the colony of Eden, unable to recall anything but her name. But she doesn't need memories to know this world is her reality. This is a world that is quickly losing its humanity, one Bane at a time.

Fighting to keep one of the last remaining human colonies alive, Eve finds herself torn between her dedication to the colony, and the discovery of love. There is Avian and West – one a soldier, one a keeper of secrets. And in the end, Eve will make a choice that will change the future of mankind.

The Bane is The Terminator meets The Walking Dead with a heart-twisting romance.

The changes?
Well, I don't want to get too into detail, but there are some things I should tell you.
  • The former humans turned machine people in the book that were once called the Fallen are now called the Bane.  There are several reasons behind this, but I won't go into it right now.
  • The Bane (formerly the Fallen) are much more consistent.  There is rhyme and reason as to why they do things in the way they do them.  The technology is more organized and better thought out.  You'll learn a bit more about the history of it.
  • The Romance: Don't freak, the end with who Eve chooses isn't changing.  The romance has changed a bit just in the fact that The Love Triangle isn't so crushing and dominant anymore.  I realized how strangling it was before.  Things are much smoother now so that the plot of the story doesn't get lost in the romance.  But don't worry, there is still plenty of kissing.
  • You will learn more about Eve's past and there were a few changes in how she came to be how she is.  I won't spoil things and say more.

So the question a lot of you probably have: Do I need to read The Bane if I've already read Eden?
The answer: I suppose not, but I really suggest it.  It's kind of like if you like ice cream.  If you like ice cream, you'll like it even more with awesome toppings...  You can never have too much ice cream...

One of the biggest things I did/changed was setting it up for more books.  There is a lot planted in The Bane that leads into books 2 and 3 that weren't really there in Eden.  If you have only read Eden you will probably go on to read the second book and be a tad lost, and lose some of the impact of things that come to light.

Now, as if all of this weren't enough, wait!  There's more!

I will also be releasing a new short story at the same time The Bane releases.  It is titled:
THE RAID

It takes place just before THE BANE.  Some of you will remember Eden's opening scene and can maybe guess what will happen.  You'll get to meet a character in it that you didn't get the privilege to know in Eden.  But it is still told from Eve's POV.

Rebirth is also getting a new title and cover.  The new title is THE ASHES.  As for this one, you will not need to reread it if you have already read it as Rebirth.  There is really nothing that changed in it besides renaming the Fallen to the Bane.

A note here though: These two shorts are going to be exclusive to Kindle.  This means there will be days when you can download them for free, or if you are an Amazon Prime member, you will also be able to borrow them.

Now, release dates:
All three of these will be available the same day.  The release date is
MARCH 5, 2013.

I do not have a for sure release date for book 2 yet, but I am aiming for July or August.  Again, that's not for sure, but that's what I'm hoping for.  No title yet, but I will let you know as soon as I have one!

If you are book reviewer and a member of NetGalley, you can request a digital ARC of THE BANE here:

I'm asking for your help in spreading the word.  The more copies that sell, the better chance we have of seeing THE BANE/EDEN hit the big screen!  So help get the word out.  As a thank you, I'm offering up 3 signed ARC's!  This is open to US residents only.  Fill out the form below to enter!

I hope you all are as excited as I am about this.  I was honestly scared out of my mind to finally commit to doing this.  Writing a trilogy is HARD work.  I almost didn't survive the FALL OF ANGELS trilogy, but I have to say, I'm ready for this.  I have missed the colony of Eden.  I've missed Eve.  I've missed Avian and West, and everyone else.  And I can't wait for you to learn all of their dark secrets that will come to light.

OHMYGOD! OH MY GOD! I...I am...what even...?! I'm so fudging excited! Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh. I absolutely LOVE Eden the way it is, but I..I can't wait for Bane! AHHH! CONGRATULATIONS THIS IS AMAZING! And two more books?! Two more books! MORE OF EVE AND ____<3

I love the cover of Eden much more since I think it goes along with the book much more. This new cover blends in with all the other superficial covers of pretty, dressed up girls >_< I'm a bit critical of this sort of thing, but don't let it bog you down!

I'm so excited! You had me so worried at first. :)

Much love,
Kirthi

AHHH! I need this! The cover is sooo pretty and I loved the rest of your books so I'm pretty sure I'll like this one too.

I thought the original Eden could have been easily made into a trilogy. I cant believe it was meant to be a novel. Needless to say I didn't think it needed to be "revamped". This release should have been for book 2 of the original Eden triliogy!

I don't even know what sense this makes, but I've heard that it's some kind of weird two-lens system where the back camera uses two lenses and it somehow takes it up into DSLR quality imagery
