It's a known fact that dystopian's are HUGE right now. It seems there is a new dystopian coming out every week and I don't think that is even an exaggeration anymore. You all know I jumped on the bandwagon and started writing Eden last July. We've seen the world end a lot of ways. If you've followed my project at all you know that I ended the world with the evolution of medical technology that turned everyone into robots.
Here's a bit of a synopsis that I wrote on what happens in Eden:
Here's a bit of a synopsis that I wrote on what happens in Eden:
Medical technology had been evolving for years. A new breed of nanorobitcs was created, a technology that infused with human tissue to regenerate new limbs and organs. The perfect blend of machine and man. But the technology continued to evolve on its own, started taking over the rest of the recipient’s bodies, and continued to spread to others with a single touch. It took away your humanity, turned you against everything you believed in. And spread like wildfire. Within four months, ninety-eight percent of the world Fell, became more machine than man.
I probably shouldn't have been looking at the real deal stuff. I based the technology around real stuff in our modern day. People live on mechanical hearts, cybernetic lungs are being developed, tons of people use mechanical prosthetics. And then you get into the nanotechnology. The technology is amazing and mind boggling. But if you want to get freaked out, read THIS ARTICLE. Pay close attention to the section on cell repair machines.
I'm quite creeped out right now...
I'm not saying the world is about to be taken over by robot-humans any time soon. But seeing your made up future world tied to reality like that is um... bizarre? Freaky?
