Inspiration

As of right now, I am back editing FORSAKEN.  The time apart has been good but at the same time it takes me a little while to get back into the swing of things when I take a break this long from writing.  But it is underway!  Only just over 2 months till the release!  Not enough time to have it polished you say?  Fear not!  It will be done (as long as my *editors* can commit the time to work on it for me)! 

The muses seem to be smiling upon me lately and I've been getting all these new ideas for books I want to write.  The ever constant problem for a writer: TIME.  I currently have 4 projects I want to work on, not to mention finishing Forsaken and the third book in the series (still not decided on a title).  It's kind of funny to me that I get ideas while watching movies.  Guess that shouldn't be too much of a surprise...  Anyway, my latest idea came to me while watching Star Wars III.  I think it would actually classify as a science fiction!  Wow, me?  Write a science fiction?  Hum, we shall see.  I'm really excited about the idea though.  All of my new ideas are headed in the young adult direction, my fourth project is to re-write The Ever Chronicles.

Despite the frustration that it is just not humanly possible for me to work on all these projects right when I want to, I couldn't be happier that I've actually getting ideas again!  I used to write a LOT when I was young, in junior high and in high school.  My best friend and I wrote this epic Harry Potter spin off when were about 15 (it was about 200 pages, pretty good for 15, right?).  I had notebooks full of stories I was working on.  When I got into my senior year of high school for some strange reason I thought I could write song lyrics, even though I couldn't play a musical instrument to save my life.  Basically it was all just poetry, which is kind of funny to me because (don't shoot me!) I kind of can't stand poetry right now.  I just don't get the majority of it.  Anyway, where is this all going you ask?  After I graduated high school I didn't write anymore.  Life got busy being just life and I stopped.  After I had my first child and became a stay at home mom I suddenly had some time to write again.  And boy did I try.  Trying to force something out just doesn't work.  I couldn't think of anything that creative.  I got really frustrated!  I'd never had a problem before.  And then reading a certain book (I won't disclose here for fear of ridicule and teasing...) started churning my creative juices again.  Voila!  I started coming up with the idea for The Ever Chronicles!

I guess where I am going with this is to just say keep your eyes open and don't look at things as they are.  Look at what they could be and how you could change it to be unique.  And if you've got more ideas then you do time, be grateful for it.  It's better than looking at a blank page.
