I've been whining endlessly about how it's been taking me forever to finish Forsaken and have been really frustrated about it. I haven't been able to figure out why it's been taking me so long till the other day. I have my natural reasons, ie. kids, the golf course, life. But probably the biggest reason: I don't have the excitement of pitching and submitting it to agents in hopes to get it published. Trying to get an agent and then a publisher is a HUGE motivating factor in finishing a book, at least it was for me. I've never stopped trying to get an agent since I finished Branded back in September but somehow still haven't managed to get one. But there's no hope in getting one for Forsaken alone, it just doesn't work that way. It's a series, they go together. So with no excitement in getting to that point I've been in no rush. Good and bad some might say but I am not a patient person. I work better when I put pressure on myself.
Anyway, not that any of this really matters. I'm going to have it done soon. I'm working on the 3rd draft now. I'm hoping to have it done in 3 weeks and then send it off to be edited.
On a little more hopeful note for the future, I typed out a few pages for my new project last night. It's not much, fewer than 1,000 words but I'm actually really happy with what I have. This new main character is fun to learn about, it's always so much fun to discover a new person. I'm debating if I will post the pages I wrote on here or not. Still undecided if I want to do that. This is all so new to me, diving into the world of science fiction. So, keep your eyes open, those pages may make an appearance!

Good on you for plugging on - as they say the difference between a published and un-published writer is just perseverance - you can do it!!
